About the role
Abyss is looking for a client facing, Senior Application Engineer to work on assignment at a super major customer. As a Senior Application Engineer, your focus is on making sure the proposed value of our product is realised by the customer. Being an embedded personnel at a customer, you will be supporting the Asset Integrity and Fabric Maintenance teams, identifying opportunities to enhance existing processes and systems with our flagship product, Abyss Fabric. As the key liaison of the customer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our service delivery meets and exceeds the expectations of our clients. This includes, but is not limited to, technical engineering review of results generated by automated systems, understanding client requirements, maintaining the highest level of quality in line with customer needs and organisation standards, and prioritising deliverables across teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mechanical integrity, inspection techniques, and maintenance best practices, and will play a key role in minimising risks and optimising asset performance

Responsibilities:

Integrity Engineering Support:

  • Cross reference Abyss against all other inspection data to support on-going activities.
  • Analyse integrity insights and generate reports and ensure Abyss data is accessible and house kept to organisation standard.
  • Tailor Abyss Fabric to address specific organisation requirements, including nomenclature, report templates, and all asset integrity related parameters.
    Work with cross-functional teams to refine insights and maximise usability and value realisation.
  • Integrate Abyss Fabric into existing workflows and data pipelines, ensuring seamless operation.

Delivery Project Management and Solution Deployment:

  • Manage scanning and project delivery for new asset on-boarding and re-scanning.
  • Assist on document and data on-boarding activities including P&ID, CAD, and Asset Equipment List.
  • Facilitate immediate follow-up verification of critical findings post on-boarding.

System Administrator and Training:

  • Develop clear and user-friendly documentation, including user guides and technical manuals specific to Customer use case and workflows.
  • Conduct training sessions for new users to help them understand and fully utilise Abyss Fabric.

Product Implementation & Road map:

  • Manage Customer specific road map built around Customer’s Basis of Design to ensure product is meeting current and future needs.

Qualifications

  • In-person. Must be local and willing to office in Covington, Louisiana.
    Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering required
  • 4 to 8 years experience in Mechanical integrity experience required, upstream preferred
  • Experience with CMMS, IDMS, ERP, and anomaly tracking software
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and degradation mechanisms
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly in creating presentations and reports.
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on schedule.
  • Strong attention to quality assurance processes and standards.
