Position Summary

Your role will involve the full software development lifecycle of a broad range of tools for automated data collection and analysis of diverse and challenging field data. Your output will deliver invaluable analytics to a wide range of commercial clients. You’ll be working closely with a group of experienced software engineers, machine learning specialists, and robotics experts, guiding you towards development of our cutting-edge products.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop software for 3D spatial point cloud pipelines and data manipulation, management, analysis, and representation
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of commercial data products
  • Design, develop and deploy data analytics tools, utilities and algorithms in order to find key faults and features in field data
  • Develop machine learning tools to detect, identify, grade and track key faults and features in visual and/or acoustic data
  • Design and develop data management and annotation software to streamline the Abyss data workflow while contributing to refining the optimal workflow
  • Field test all developments in controlled conditions and for external projects
  • Deliver on Client facing operations, with potential for managing projects and managing tasks
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team, and where applicable, operate as a task owner, a developer, a supervisor and/or a mentor

Person specification

  • Excellent Python in Linux environment (numpy, pathlib, scipy essential; open3d, opencv preferred)
  • Masters in Computer Science field preferred
  • Strong mathematical and problem solving skills
  • Strong software design skills
  • Understanding Bash scripting
  • Understanding software testing methodologies
  • Basic understanding of computer vision, data science, machine learning, and robotics
  • Javascript, Node.js, modern web development
  • GCP ecosystem
  • Experience in Agile methodologies

Qualification

Graduate degree in computer science or software engineering degree
