What you’ll do

Airwallex is looking for a proactive and motivated Tax Manager covering the EMEA and APAC markets with extensive hands-on experience and a global mindset to provide tax advice and supporting documentation, compliance, and reporting for existing businesses and new business initiatives. This position will be part of a team that works closely with business partners to understand business initiatives, prepare advice on the associated tax implications, provide actionable guidance and requirements for the business, and support reporting and compliance obligations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on complex, high-priority projects whilst managing competing priorities – including working across multi-region and cross-functional teams

  • Work on holistic, commercially balanced advice to leadership to devise strategic, technical tax positions

  • Analyse and review statutes, regulations, and case laws, and extract data to make appropriate recommendations in simple terms

  • Work with the EMEA/ APAC tax lead on direct tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing issues related to current and future Airwallex entities

  • Contribute to complex global projects such as M&A transactions, due diligence, or IPO-readiness

  • An in-depth, technical knowledge of complex taxation matters, including Direct tax, Indirect tax, International tax, and Transfer Pricing

  • Demonstrable experience working across multiple time zones, supporting and/or leading on strategic cross-functional projects designed to identify growth opportunities or mitigate risk

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or another related field

  • Previous experience working in an accounting firm

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Team player mentality and ability to work with individuals across functions and culture
