Certain roles may be eligible for other compensation including, but not limited to, annual bonuses, commissions, RSUs, or other forms of compensation in addition to the established salary range.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and work location. US-based employees are eligible to participate in medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits. US-based employees also receive 20 paid days of vacation and 12 paid days of company holidays in a calendar year.

About the team

The Finance & Corporate Development team at Airwallex drives the company's financial strategy and growth. Our team focuses on financial planning, analysis, and corporate transactions to ensure Airwallex's long-term success. We collaborate across departments to identify opportunities, manage risks, and execute strategic initiatives. What you'll do
Reporting directly to the Head of Strategic Finance, you will play a critical role in shaping Airwallex’s financial trajectory and influencing strategic decisions across the company. This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of strategy, finance, and execution. You will work closely with senior leaders to evaluate opportunities, track performance, and ensure capital and resources are allocated to the areas that matter most. Your work will guide where we invest, how we scale, and how we stay accountable to our long-term goals.

You will bring strong financial modelling and analytical skills, paired with the strategic thinking required to solve open-ended problems and influence decision-making. You can go deep into data to uncover what’s driving performance, then elevate to extract implications and communicate them clearly. You know how to bridge insight and action, working across functions to align stakeholders and drive outcomes.

You take ownership, operate well in ambiguity, and bring sound judgment to complex decisions. You understand what drives business performance and have the clarity, focus, and follow-through to help teams act on it.

This role is based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain robust financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic planning and day-to-day operational decision-making

  • Shape and communicate the company’s financial narrative through materials for investor updates, board presentations, and internal leadership reviews

  • Support capital markets readiness by building financial scenarios, aligning internal metrics to external positioning, and preparing for potential fundraising or strategic transactions

  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate the financial feasibility and strategic implications of key initiatives, including market expansion, product development, and strategic transactions such as partnerships, joint ventures, and M&A

  • Analyse business performance to identify drivers, surface issues, and drive actions that strengthen execution and enable sustained, profitable growth

  • Evaluate capital deployment across teams and initiatives, and support investment decisions that align with the company’s strategic goals and long-term priorities

  • Provide financial and strategic support on high-impact, cross-functional projects

  • Improve internal finance processes, reporting, and tools to enhance transparency, decision-making, and execution discipline across the organization

Who you are

We’re looking for individuals with strong analytical foundations, sharp business judgment, and the ability to turn insight into action. The minimum qualifications are essential to succeed in this role. Preferred qualifications help you stand out, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, or a related field

  • 6+ years of experience across strategic finance, management consulting, investment banking, or private equity

  • Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills, with the ability to build and adapt models for strategic and operational decision-making

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to break down complex problems, distill business implications, and develop actionable recommendations

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and align cross-functional teams

  • Proven ability to take ownership and drive end-to-end execution, even in ambiguous or evolving contexts

  • Strong commercial judgment and a clear understanding of how businesses grow and scale

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in high-growth environments, ideally within the Technology space

  • Have worked in top-tier management consulting, investment banking, or private equity firms

  • Familiarity with SQL, business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau), and/or working with large, complex datasets across functions and regions

Compensation Range: $144,532 - $222,770
