💡 About the role
This is the first dedicated growth marketer on the participant side. You'll set things up from the ground up, then run them.
You'll own participant growth end-to-end: acquisition, activation, retention, and lifecycle. The goal isn't just volume. It's growing the right mix of demographics, regions, and specialty cohorts that match demand, and keeping that supply engaged and active over time.
The work spans paid channels, organic, lifecycle programs, referral loops, and partnerships. You'll optimise the signup-to-first-study funnel with product, run experimentation across the whole flywheel, and own the unit economics that prove it's working. Data-driven from end to end. You'll pull data, build the dashboards using AI, and defend your conclusions.
AI-first throughout. You'll build the agents and workflows that scale the work rather than scaling headcount.

🛠 What you'll do
Setup
Work closely with product and engineering to instrument the participant journey end-to-end
Set up attribution, performance metrics, and the dashboards that drive weekly decisions
Build the data foundation for the participant growth function
Acquisition
Set strategy and execute across paid, organic, referral, partnerships, and communities
Identify and scale the channels that work, kill the ones that don't
Own the budget and the channel mix
Activation and retention
Turn new signups into verified, active, repeat participants in collaboration with product
Reduce churn and run re-activation programs to turn participants into loyal users
Run lifecycle programs (email, push, SMS) that keep participants engaged between studies
Reduce time to first study and improve repeat participation rates
Diversity and quality
Hit demographic, geographic, and specialty cohort targets that match demand
Grow the supply demand actually needs, not just the supply that's easiest to get
Set the growth strategy across US, UK, and AU, prioritised by demand
AI and systems
Build AI agents and workflows that scale acquisition and lifecycle work
Run a tight experimentation system. Test, learn, kill, scale
Own CAC, LTV, payback, and the weekly view on the participant flywheel

What you need
5+ years in growth marketing, ideally some of it supply-side at a marketplace or consumer at scale
Track record acquiring and retaining users at volume, with numbers attached
Deep paid channel chops. Meta and Google as minimum, comfortable testing new platforms
Lifecycle experience: email, push, SMS, in-app
Data fluent. Comfortable using AI to slice and dice data, and across modern analytics tools like SQL, Looker, Mixpanel, or GA4
AI-first mindset. You build agents and workflows, not just one-off prompts
End-to-end ownership. Strategy through execution
Marketplace economics fluency. CAC, LTV, payback, supply demand balance
