Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role

As a Senior UX Content Strategist in the Global Content & Discovery supergroup, you'll be owning group-level initiatives to improve how people explore, navigate and search for content in our content library and across our wider ecosystem of templates and landing pages.

  • UX and Product Content Strategy: You’ll use your exceptional strategic skills to design meta data frameworks, taxonomies, information architecture, user journeys, and more! You’ll do this across a wide variety of Canva’s surface area including our templates marketplace, content library, search experience, print experience and the Canva Creators community. You’ll also work with other Content Strategists in different super groups to tackle problems we’re all facing, so we can continue to build a robust, thriving specialty across Canva.
  • Strategy and leadership: Global Content & Discovery has a complex ecosystem of content across many touch points. You'll use your head for strategy to connect the user experience together with the right information, at the right time, to the right person. You will be seen as a leader for content strategy thinking across the user experience and can ladder up user goals into business goals.
  • Collaboration and communication: You’ll bring design, PMs, localization specialists, engineers and researchers together to find the best solutions for our users.
  • Results: Your strategy isn’t just for show, you know how to get it shipped! It will move the needle on the metrics that matter at Canva and within the super group like user acquisition, retention and revenue.

What we are looking for

  • You’re a senior UX or Product Content Strategist who’s got a proven track record of solving complex problems, ideally in the tech/SaaS industry. This means you have at least 3-5 years of experience in this type of role.
  • Defining meta data and designing taxonomies gets you excited and you know that information architecture is so much more than a site map. You can makes sense of a lot of information and organise it in a way that our users will understand.
  • You’ve got a love for, and experience with, qualitative and quantitative research and usability testing and aren’t afraid to dive in to deeply understand user behaviour.
  • You’re excited about what AI can bring to the table in the world of content strategy and are ready to work closely with our product teams to fine tune how we search, structure and store our content.
  • You have experience working with SEO and huge amounts of content (hundreds of thousands of SEO pages). Even better if this has been translated into languages all around the world.
  • You know best practice SEO at scale, but still retain a love for all things voice and tone and user experience.
  • You know how to work independently, but you also love collaborating with people from different disciplines and sharing the power of content strategy.
  • You’ve got a good balance between big-picture thinking and nailing the details.
  • You’re not afraid of complex problems – in fact, that’s where you thrive.
  • You know how to build relationships and to get buy-in from key stakeholders. You’ve got a track record of bringing people on the journey with you – they know what’s changing and why.
  • You like to move quickly, and aren’t afraid of fast growth and rapid change. Canva is growing faster than you can imagine – which means solutions that worked 6 months ago might break. You’re up for that challenge.
  • You know how to prioritize ruthlessly and handle responsibilities for a wide number of projects – focusing your attention on the areas that matter most.

Content Strategy sits alongside Content Design as a small and growing part of our Design specialty. Canva sees content as a crucial part of its ongoing success – and we’re really focused on improving our content experience. We’ve got a lot of content, but we need to do a better job of delivering the right content to the right people at the right time – and fixing silos.

Our specialty collaborates closely with PMs, Designers, Engineers and Design Researchers to identify solutions that prioritize our users’ needs.
