Canva’s flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia, supported by offices all over the world from London to Manilla, San Fransisco to Vienna and everywhere in between. But our super-modern Nottingham campus is home to Affinity.

Located near the bustling town of West Bridgford only a short distance away from Nottingham’s legendary city centre, the interior of our office is a stunning, newly renovated, open-plan working environment featuring various meeting and breakout spaces. Our state-of-the-art atrium and bar area plays host to a range of special events, and on regular workdays, you’ll almost always find someone recharging at the pool table or trying to beat the high score on one of the arcade games in our café. It’s an incredibly welcoming, friendly working environment where you can enjoy collaborating with others, or simply find somewhere to focus on independent work.

Our Nottingham office is easily accessible, with ample on-site parking and convenient public transportation options nearby. This hybrid role is based at our Nottingham office, with a dynamic mix of in-office collaboration (Monday-Wednesday) and the flexibility to work remotely on Thursdays and Fridays. What you’ll do
As Affinity scales, change continues to be part of our DNA – we like to think that's all part of the fun though. We’ve provided a breakdown of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Lead projects from briefing to delivery, under the direction of the Head of Creative and working with other creatives, and thriving in collaboration with a wider marketing team
  • As this is a senior position, as well as supervising freelance creatives and working with agencies, suitable candidates could have the opportunity to manage the Affinity creative team
  • Develop strong ideas, crafting and scrutinising briefs and strategies
  • Be familiar with creating integrated campaigns, with an understanding of how to take us into increasing OOH and experiential campaign strategies
  • Communicate and champion creative thinking and technical execution to collaborators throughout each project
  • Collaborate with Affinity creatives across both brand and product campaigns
  • Understand how to brief other creative specialists: content creators, copywriters, videographers, motion designers, video producers, artworkers etc. to collaborate on projects

In order to fully understand the brand and product you’ll be working on, you’ll be expected to use Affinity creative software to produce your artwork; therefore, you’ll ideally have a good grasp of the software already.

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a Design Lead to spearhead the ideation, production and delivery for Affinity campaigns. This opportunity requires superstar creative skills with an open mind to crossboard into our suite of software whilst also demonstrating commercial awareness and desire to spread the word of Affinity. You’ll be a confident presenter, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and someone who can craft multi-channel end-to-end journeys across each campaign.

  • Senior level creative experience in an in-house brand, marketing or agency environment
  • Proven track record delivering impactful commercially successful campaigns including specifically above-the-line and through-the-line
  • Demonstrable practical multi-creative skills as well as conceptual thinking
  • Experience in a fast-paced, quick turnaround environment
  • Deep understanding of the role that video/social content plays in campaigns
  • Experience overseeing creatives
  • Ability to design pitch decks and presentations

This dream-team is made up of several specialty squads, including Product Marketing, Digital, Communications, Creative, Engagement and Operations, all working collaboratively to smash crazy big goals.

The Creative specialty team at Affinity is a band of free-thinking individuals tasked with delivering inspirational and imaginative campaigns that impress pro designers everywhere. All with their own special disciplines from design to copy to motion graphics and video, each team member brings a unique skillset and vision to each and every project. Together, they create magic.

Owning all of the creative output from Affinity including artwork commissions from our roster of Affinity Artists, plus marketing content, this team is the custodian of the Affinity brand, ensuring our visual communication is effective, values-aligned and extraordinarily creative.
