About the Supergroup
We’re part of the Content & Discovery Supergroup - and we’re on a mission to empower the world through access to exceptional, inspiring content. Our work spans discovery, acquisition, curation, and creation of content that helps every user bring their ideas to life.
We champion a global-first approach to content and invest deeply in the systems, partnerships, and strategies that allow us to deliver relevant, diverse, and high-quality assets at scale. Every pixel, every asset, and every recommendation we make contributes to helping users design with confidence and delight. We move fast, think big, and collaborate across Canva to make design universally accessible.
About the Role/Specialty
As a Strategy Analyst in the Strategy & Insights group, you'll support critical decision-making across C&D's most strategic areas, from our content portfolio to how users discover and create with that content. You'll help shape investments in our creator community, partnerships, AI, and the search and recommendation features that connect users with the right assets at the right time.
This role uniquely positions you to see the full content lifecycle, from acquisition and creation (including AI) through to discovery and user value. We'll rely on you to conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses that inform strategic discussions and guide decision-making across traditional content, AI capabilities, and user experience. Your insights will directly influence what content we invest in, how we leverage AI to scale content creation, and how we help users find exactly what they need.
Working closely with your coach and senior analysts, you'll have unique exposure to executive-level decision making and the chance to influence initiatives that impact millions of users globally. You'll be at the forefront of defining how AI transforms content creation and discovery at Canva.
What you’ll do:
- Support strategic analysis for content investments across formats, partnerships, and AI initiatives
- Break down complex problems using data analysis and user insights to develop recommendations
- Build business cases and size opportunities for new content initiatives
- Maintain reporting on content performance metrics and their impact on MAU/ARR in collaboration with our Data Scientists
- Support global royalty pool operations for our creator communities
- Analyse how content and discovery work together to identify engagement opportunities
- Apply performance frameworks to understand what content resonates with different user segments
- Partner with teams across Product, Finance, and Growth to support C&D initiatives
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform decisions
- Contribute to executive reports including MBR updates and initiative tracking
- Support ad-hoc projects including partnership assessments and strategic experiments
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in management consulting or strategy-driven teams at a high growth startup / tech company
- Strong business acumen with problem-solving creativity and commercial judgement
- Proven track record of identifying and driving strategic change in a fast paced environment
- You’re pro-active, you own and drive pieces of work from start to finish. You identify the opportunities where you can make the largest impact, and you see it through
- Expertise in developing a clear compelling story & strategic recommendation- leveraging data, market research and independent analysis
- Experience and confidence influencing and building relationships with different types of people
- Experience in analysing large volumes of data, building models, and formulating strategic frameworks is great. Experience with strategy implementation or operations is considered a plus.
- Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and within set deadlines
If you have a keen eye for detail, a strong desire to keep learning and have a knack for solving complex problems in ambiguous environments then this could be the role for you!
