Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Alongside our global campuses, we also collaborate with talented contractors from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals. While we support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working, for this role we’re focusing on London so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.

This role is a 12-Month contract, working full-time hours.

What you’d be doing in this role

We’re launching brand new social channels in the UK, and we’re looking for a creative and strategic storyteller to help shape how Canva shows up from day one. In this role, you’ll build our local social presence from the ground up; creating culturally relevant, native content that connects, entertains, and inspires.

This is a hybrid role for someone who blends content craft with platform expertise, and who’s just as confident ideating as they are publishing, engaging, and iterating. You don’t wait to brief...you’re the type to shoot, write, edit, and post if it means getting something great out the door fast.

You’ll bring a sharp understanding of local culture, trends, and creators, and know how to translate that into platform-native content that builds community and brand love.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Launching and growing Canva’s UK social presence from the ground up — end-to-end ownership from strategy to publishing.

  • Creating culturally relevant, native content that connects, inspires, and entertains across key platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

  • Spotting trends and real-time moments to join conversations that matter to our community.

  • Collaborating with agencies, freelancers, and creators to bring fresh local ideas to life.

  • Engaging daily with your audience to build connection, spark joy, and fuel community growth.

  • Localising global campaigns to make them resonate with UK audiences.

  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to align on local marketing goals and campaign strategies.

  • Reporting on performance and applying insights to iterate and optimise for impact.

  • Being a guardian of Canva’s voice — ensuring every post reflects our values and personality.

You're probably a match if

  • You have extensive social media experience, especially focused on content creation and community engagement.

  • You’re a hands-on creator — confident filming, editing, designing, writing, and posting on the fly.

  • You know what works (and doesn’t) on TikTok, Instagram, and beyond — and can explain why.

  • You’ve got a sharp eye for storytelling, a flair for design, and experience using Canva to bring ideas to life.

  • You’re plugged into UK culture, trends, and digital creators, and have a knack for translating it into content that lands.

  • You’ve worked with creative partners, influencers, or agencies — and know how to get the best out of a brief.

  • You’re a strong communicator, comfortable collaborating in English with a global team.

  • You’re data-savvy — you know how to read performance metrics and turn insights into action.

  • You’re proactive, self-motivated, and thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments.

About the team

You’ll be part of the International Marketing group, working closely with the local UK team and the global social media team. Together, we’re on a mission to empower users everywhere to design—your storytelling will help make Canva one of the most loved and culturally relevant brands in the UK.
