SEO Country Lead
Canva
Job Description
Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.
สวัสดี, hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.
Where and how you can work
Alongside our global campuses, we also collaborate with talented contractors and freelancers from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals. While we support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working, for this role we’re focusing on Thailand so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
Strategic SEO Leadership — Lead the end-to-end SEO strategy for Thailand across technical, content, and authority pillars. Turn Thai market insights into a focused, high-impact roadmap aligned with Canva’s international growth goals, continuously optimise for the highest ROI, and represent SEO as a core strategic growth driver in Thailand’s planning discussions.
Team Building & Capability Development — Build and lead a high-performing local SEO team in Thailand as the market scales. Set clear goals and rituals, grow your team’s autonomy and impact, and foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, and experimentation within the Thailand organisation.
Market Expertise & Competitive Intelligence — Become Canva’s definitive expert on Thailand’s search landscape — platforms, user intent, competitors, and trends. Analyse Thai search behaviour and market signals to uncover new opportunities, validate local hypotheses with data, and directly influence the Thailand roadmap.
Content & Localisation Strategy — Partner with localisation and design teams to deliver culturally resonant, Thai-language content that reflects local search behaviour. Prioritise high-impact categories, blend localisation with bespoke creation, and leverage global systems to maximise impact in Thailand.
Technical Excellence & Link Building — Maintain strong technical foundations for the Thai market, including site speed, indexation, structured data, hreflang, and mobile optimisation. Collaborate with technical specialists and local partners to strengthen authority signals and drive sustainable growth.
Performance Analytics & Reporting — Define Thailand-specific KPIs aligned to both SEO and business goals, track performance across sessions, signups, returning users, and visibility, and communicate insights clearly to Country and Central stakeholders — highlighting wins, learnings, and pivots.
Navigating the Evolution of Search & Discovery — Monitor AI search and emerging discovery platforms in Thailand, assess where to double down or pivot beyond traditional SEO, experiment with AI optimisation strategies, and share learnings to strengthen Canva’s global SEO engine.
You're probably a match if
You are deeply embedded in the Thai market — a native Thai speaker with strong business English who genuinely understands how people in Thailand search, create, and consume online. You don’t just translate global strategies — you instinctively know what will (and won’t) resonate locally, and you can bridge Thai market nuance with Canva’s global growth ambitions.
You think like a strategist, not just an executor — you assess markets from first principles, pressure-test opportunities, and build bespoke strategies instead of copying playbooks. For example, you can confidently recommend doubling down on SEO for high-intent segments while pivoting to AI discovery or social search where it makes more sense — and back it up with data.
You’ve led SEO at meaningful scale — you’ve driven impact on large websites (500+ pages), understand how technical, content, and link building integrate, and are fluent in tools like GA, GSC, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and Looker. More importantly, you translate SEO performance into clear business impact that leadership understands.
You build trust and influence without authority — you’re a strong communicator who makes collaboration easy across Product, Content, Engineering, and Country teams. You turn complex SEO insights into compelling business cases that unlock alignment and action.
You operate with real ownership — you act like Thailand’s growth is your business. You proactively propose bold ideas, solve problems resourcefully, and are comfortable with autonomy and accountability for results.
You’re future-oriented and channel-agnostic — you’re already exploring how brands appear in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews. You’re curious about how discovery is evolving, comfortable with ambiguity, and objective enough to double down on traditional SEO or pivot to AI-driven visibility based on data.
About the team
International is becoming Canva’s biggest growth driver in 2026 and beyond. To achieve our goal of reaching 1 in 5 internet users each month, we’re moving beyond translating English wins and doubling down on truly local strategies that resonate deeply with each market — including Thailand.
As the SEO Country Lead for Thailand, you’ll sit within the Logged Out Experience (LOX) Group and International Supergroup, operating in a dual-alignment model: embedded locally with the Thailand team while also contributing to Canva’s global Central SEO engine. You’ll collaborate with a world-class global SEO network spanning technical specialists, content experts, engineers, data analysts, and strategists — combining local ownership with global scale.
