Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hello, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a hub San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations. We offer flexibility in how and where you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Owning and optimising paid marketing programs across search, social, and display to drive quality user acquisition across the North American market
  • Designing and running growth experiments across the funnel, from awareness through to conversion, using data to figure out what works and then scaling it fast
  • Partnering with Product, Creative, and Data teams to build campaigns that drive high-value SMB trials and Canva Business growth
  • Analysing channel performance and translating insights into clear actions that improve efficiency and ROI
  • Contributing to the North America growth marketing roadmap and bringing a clear point of view on where the biggest opportunities sit
  • Owning end-to-end execution of paid marketing programs across search, social, and display — from briefing creative through to optimisation — with a focus on acquiring high-value SMB users and driving quality Canva Business trials in the North American market
  • Building and running a structured experimentation program across the funnel: writing hypotheses, designing tests, reading results, and knowing when to scale something and when to kill it
  • Digging into performance data across channels to identify what's working, where efficiency is slipping, and what changes will move the needle — then making those changes rather than waiting to be asked
  • Working closely with the Performance Marketing, Creative, and Data teams to develop campaigns that are both strategically sharp and operationally tight — from audience targeting through to landing page experience
  • Partnering with the Canva Business product team to stay close to the North American user and ensure your campaigns reflect what actually resonates with SMBs in that market
  • Managing budget allocation across channels and making smart trade-offs between reach, efficiency, and growth — tracking spend against targets and flagging risks early

You're probably a match if

  • You have solid hands-on experience running performance and growth marketing programs across paid channels, with a track record of improving efficiency and driving measurable results, preferably in a SaaS environment
  • You're genuinely data-driven — comfortable in a spreadsheet, at home in a dashboard, and confident turning numbers into decisions
  • You know how to juggle multiple campaigns and priorities at once without losing sight of what actually matters
  • You collaborate well with global teams and can work effectively across time zones without missing a beat
  • You bring a test-and-learn mindset and aren't precious about your ideas — you just want to find what works

About the team

As a Growth Strategist for North America, you drive business impact by owning the strategy, execution, and optimisation of regional growth levers, with a focus on paid digital channels.

Combining analytical rigour, growth expertise, customer insight, regional knowledge, and a creative mindset, you drive scaled user and revenue growth by identifying, validating and scaling big bets to step-change regional growth in target Category Entry Points (CEPs).

As part of the North America Growth Team, you will work deeply across Canva’s Free, Pro, Business, Education and Print SKUs. Partnering closely with Creative Strategists and Directors, NAMER Marketing, Growth, Brand, Product Marketing and Data, you will run high-velocity experiments, shape breakthrough campaigns, and scale growth plays into long-term strategic bets that drive Canva’s success in the US, Canada, and Australia.
