The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fraud Analyst to join our rapidly expanding team. As an Analyst, you will be at the forefront of identifying and mitigating fraud risks for our clients. Your work will be vital in maintaining the trust of our customers and ensuring the integrity of the financial systems we serve.

What You’ll Do

  • Investigate fraud alerts and other referrals to identify potentially fraudulent activity across a variety of fraud typologies including scams, muling, identity takeover in relation to transaction fraud, card fraud, and lending application fraud
  • Operate in AFCX, FRX, and NPP portals
  • Analyse fraud trends and provide recommendations in relation to enhancing detection strategies, including testing and validation of fraud monitoring rules
  • Identify enhancement opportunities and perform uplifts of fraud risk management process and procedures
  • Support internal and Client reporting in relation to all aspects of Fraud Risk Management including management of SLAs and KRIs
  • Work with internal teams and external vendors to escalate and investigate issues and exceptions

Who Are You

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, criminology, business, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience working in a financial institution or organisation focused on financial services
  • Proven experience in fraud detection within the banking industry or a related sector.
  • Familiar with financial crime regulatory and compliance environment.
  • Familiar with tooling and software supporting financial crime and fraud operations (e.g., transaction monitoring systems, identity verification services, fraud monitoring tools).
  • A proactive and self-motivated mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
