Role Overview
As a Strategic Account Executive specializing in Civil Engineering, you will serve as the primary partner to the most influential infrastructure and engineering firms in the industry. You will manage a portfolio of named enterprise accounts (400+ employees), focusing on Civil contractors and Civil Engineering firms. Your mandate is to drive both expansion within existing accounts and new business acquisition by delivering innovative reality capture and AI solutions that redefine what’s possible in large-scale infrastructure technology.
This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role where you will navigate complex, multi-stakeholder consultative sales cycles across field operations and executive offices, influencing large organizations to adopt cutting-edge technology for measurable, real-world project outcomes. You will be empowered to shape account strategy, build executive relationships, and deliver solutions that directly impact the future of infrastructure.
Work Environment
- This is a remote position, based in the U.S., with a preference for Central or Mountain Time zones. Candidates should reside within 45 minutes of a major airport to support frequent travel.
- Field Presence: Expect to be in the field approximately 50% of the time for client meetings, project site visits, and industry events.
- Travel: Frequent domestic travel is required, with occasional international travel to support global civil engineering firms.
Responsibilities
- Territory Growth: Take full ownership of your territory, executing strategies to deliver revenue growth—targeting approximately 70% from expansion and 30% from new heavy civil logo acquisition.
- Strategic Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, VPs of Operations, and Project Directors, architecting tailored solutions for complex infrastructure challenges.
- Opportunity Prioritization: Proactively identify and pursue high-value opportunities, structuring complex deals and guiding negotiations to successful outcomes.
- Full Lifecycle Management: Lead the entire sales journey—from prospecting heavy civil firms through solution design, closing, and ensuring successful onboarding for large-scale deployments.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Sales Engineering and Product teams to ensure DroneDeploy’s AI and reality capture tools meet the specific technical needs of civil engineers.
- Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of trends in reality capture, AI, and construction technology specific to earthworks, highways, and infrastructure, positioning DroneDeploy as the partner of choice for digital transformation.
- Outcome Focus: Consistently achieve or exceed quota, maintaining a robust 120-day rolling forecast and delivering results that move the needle for both your clients and DroneDeploy.
Requirements
- Enterprise Experience: 5+ years of enterprise Construction Technology sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding quota in complex, multi-threaded deals.
- Industry Expertise: 3+ years selling into the Heavy Civil, Infrastructure, Mining, or Civil Engineering sectors, with deep industry knowledge and established relationships.
- Strategic Agility: Demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy and deliver results in rapidly evolving environments.
- Consultative Approach: Skilled at uncovering technical needs, building consensus among diverse stakeholders (from the field to the C-suite), and driving value at every stage of the sales cycle.
- Tools: Proficiency with Salesforce, Gong, and the ability to quickly adopt new AI-driven sales tools.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Certifications: It’s beneficial for the person in this role to obtain & maintain an active USA-Part 107 license.

Base Salary Range: $71,000 – $132,800
The base salary range reflects our Tier 2 compensation band, which includes: Chicago, Austin, Denver, Boston, Washington DC, San Diego, Portland, Miami. If hired outside a Tier 2 location, the base salary range may adjust as our pay bands are based on location. The salary offered may vary based on meeting position requirements, skills, experience, position level, and location. In addition to the base salary, we offer an annual variable, equity, employee benefits, and programs.
