We have been operating in the UK since 2022 with our Juniper clinic, offering a multidisciplinary weight management program and seeking to tackle one of the most acute public health challenges of our time. Our program has been endorsed by the National Institute for Care Excellence (NICE) for use within the NHS.

About the role (What you'll be doing)

We are looking for a Medical Doctor passionate about metabolic health to support our UK Juniper brand, with the goal of greater access to weight management care for the UK public.

Responsibilities

• Be an active part of the UK and global medical advisory boards at Eucalyptus. Attend relevant meetings, held on a quarterly basis. This board is chaired by Dr Richard Donnelly (Emeritus Professor of Medicine in the University of Nottingham & Editor-in-Chief of Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism)
• Create educational content for patients (with the support of our content / creative team)
• Support our internal teams, including advising on existing services and potential launches
• Represent the Juniper brand in the medical community, including media appearances, press responses and conference appearances (where relevant)

Logistics

• Flexible advisory engagement, with a minimum of 1-2 days per month (can be in addition to current work)
• Remote role (but flexibility to travel to our office in London for occasional key meetings)
• Competitive compensation on a per day rate, with potential for partial ownership of this business through our employee options scheme

About you (Who are we looking for)

Skills & Experience

• Medical Doctor - You have have at least 10 years of experience as a Medical Doctor and have an active medical license in the UK, with a strong reputation in clinical practice or academia.
• Expertise in metabolic health - You have experience in advancing care and outcomes in weight management and understand the unique challenges in delivering sustainable, supportive programs in this field.
• Interested in new healthcare models - You are motivated by the potential for technology to improve patient access to care. You’re comfortable navigating the healthcare sector’s commercial aspects and see the big picture of Eucalyptus’s mission.
• Strong communicator - You are able to align people around goals in a complex environment using various mediums—written, verbal, and visual. You are an active listener and can interact effectively with stakeholders, including presenting data-driven insights concisely to a range of audiences.
• Expert brand ambassador and relationship builder - You have a talent for fostering relationships that lead to long-term partnerships and can confidently advocate for the brand’s values.

Bonus points if you have

• Endocrinology or Menopause specialisation - You have a background in endocrinology, menopause, testosterone therapy, or a related specialty, allowing you to provide valuable insights to our team and potential patients.
• Digital health experience - You have prior experience working with or partnering with a fast-growing digital health startup, ideally in roles where you effectively communicated the benefits of clinical expertise and digital care solutions to potential patients.
• Existing online presence / community - You have a reputable online presence (e.g., social media, publications, blog, etc.), which boosts your capacity to advocate for Juniper and engage with the broader health community.
