In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. You will work closely with the CFO and Executive team to ensure accurate and timely financial information, drive improvements and automate financial processes, and ensure the company’s financial health.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Acquisition Integration: Manage the finance integration of acquired companies, ensuring seamless financial consolidation alignment with company operations. Collaborate with the acquisitions team, solicitors and other stakeholders to oversee and execute the financial aspects of acquisitions; ensuring smooth transitions, accurate consolidated financial reporting, driving cost out programsand adherence to contracts.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow planning, ensuring the company’s liquidity needs are met. Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring efficient cash management practices. Maintain a cashflow forecast, gathering inputs from various stakeholders and oversee adherence of debt covenants
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards. Experience with consolidated group reporting and building scalable reporting systems Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, collaborating with departmental heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Track and monitor actual vs. budget performance on the cost side, providing variance analysis and recommendations for corrective actions. Partner with senior team members to advise on plans and investments.
  • Internal Controls & Risk Management: Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Conduct regular reviews of financial processes and systems, recommending improvements where necessary. Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Create and adjust policies and procedures for the group.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, bonuses, and benefits. Ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations and manage any payroll-related queries or issues. We operate under the SCHADs award, build understanding of the award and the rules.
  • Taxation: oversee the companies tax obligations, working closely with advisors and experts to ensure continued compliance.

Essential:

  • Deep analytical capability with advanced Excel skills—you don’t just work with data; you interrogate it, find the story, and use it to shape strategic decisions.
  • Leadership grounded in integrity, strength, and a strong sense of purpose—you lead by example and bring others along with you.
  • Designed and built scalable finance systems. Experience implementing planning, reporting, workflow and analytical platforms that scale across entities, geographies and business verticals.
  • Natural relationship-builder—able to earn trust, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across functions.
  • Adaptable and curious—you embrace change and are always looking to grow, learn, and improve.

Desirable:

  • Experience in M&A or post-merger integration, business systems or process improvement work, or building efficient and scalable operational functions from the ground up. ASX listed company reporting experience.
