The Role
The Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships is a senior, execution-oriented leader responsible for shaping Linktree’s commercial strategy and driving go-to-market for our ecosystem, platform and B2B offerings. As a key member of the senior management team, you will design and scale partnership models that accelerate revenue growth, unlock distribution, and expand Linktree’s product capabilities. You thrive in a highly cross-functional environment and bring exceptional commercial intuition paired with deep product fluency. This role requires a proven ability to identify, structure, and operationalize high-impactful strategic partnerships while leading a high-performing team.
Key Outcomes (First 12–18 Months)
- High Impact Strategic Partnerships: Deliver transformative deals that drive qualified paid conversions, extend product capabilities, and accelerate commerce revenues through co-marketing, product integration and platform partnerships.
- Accelerated B2B Revenue: Drive new ARR across enterprise offerings by onboarding new customers and increasing existing customer wallet share.
- Pipeline Strength & Forecast Reliability: Maintain disciplined pipeline coverage, increase win and close rates, shorten deal cycles, and deliver accurate forecasts that support leadership and board planning.
- Team Development & Scale: Coach, empower, and scale a high-performing business development and partnership organization. Create a culture of accountability, excellence and revenue ownership.
What You’ll Own
- Strategic Partner Development: Develop and execute Linktree’s strategic partnership roadmap across a portfolio of co-marketing, product & platform ecosystem partners. Own full lifecycle partnership execution from sourcing high potential opportunities, deal negotiations to ensuring successful partners onboarding and adoption. Serve as a senior point of escalation for major deals and partner negotiations.
- Commercial Leadership (B2B and Advertising): Oversee the growth and onboarding pipeline for SMB, agency, and enterprise clients leveraging Linktree’s social commerce and Workspace offerings. Lead advertising revenue strategy and scale programmatic partner demand to accelerate ad revenue contribution.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and own executive-level relationships with strategic partners, key client accounts and industry stakeholders.
- Product and Technical Collaboration: Act as a product ambassador, bridging external partner needs with internal Product, Engineering, and Growth teams. Influence product roadmap decisions based on market trends, partner insights, and competitive dynamics.
- Team Leadership & Development: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the combined 4-person Business Development and Inside Sales team. Lead from the front as a player-coach, driving deals while developing talent. Recruit, develop, and retain top performers while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and trust.
- Operational Excellence & Forecasting: Build and enforce disciplined forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting practices. Implement scalable processes, KPIs, and checkpoints that increase transparency and predictability in revenue outcomes. Partner with Marketing, Product, Finance, and Customer Success to ensure alignment across go-to-market motions.
Who We’re Looking For
- 12+ years of experience in a business development, strategic partnerships or sales leadership role in the SaaS or Consumer Internet industry; 5+ years as Director-level or higher.
- Proven success in sourcing, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships and business development initiatives that drive measurable revenue and product impact.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and talent development experience, managing 5+ direct reports across BD, sales or partnership functions.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to inspire teams, influence stakeholders, and close senior-level deals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and formulate effective strategies.
- Data-driven operator with experience setting KPIs, building forecasts, and using analytics to optimize sales performance.
- Proficiency with CRM and sales tools (e.g., Attio, HubSpot).
- Entrepreneurial, ownership-driven mindset; thrives in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments with a collaborative, accountable leadership style.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Linktree is committed to providing a fair and competitive compensation package including cash, equity, and benefits. The base salary offered for this role is targeted at $220,000-$270,000 for roles based in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Final offers depend on multiple factors including location, experience, expertise, and role scope, and may vary from the range listed.
