The Role

We are seeking a seasoned Staff Product Manager, Payment Foundations to join our team and own the infrastructure that powers every transaction at Linktree. You will lead the strategy and execution for our billing platform, global payment optimization, and the flexible pricing systems that enable our next phase of growth. The ideal candidate combines deep payments expertise with a builder’s mindset—someone who can navigate the complexities of global payment rails while shipping the billing infrastructure that unlocks new business models.

What You'll Do

Strategy Development
  • Own the Payment Foundations roadmap, developing a clear product vision, success metrics, and priorities aligned with company revenue and growth targets.
  • Collaborate with leadership, finance, and go-to-market teams to translate business strategy into a sequenced plan spanning billing enablement, localization, and payment optimization.
  • Identify opportunities to unlock new revenue through flexible pricing models, international expansion, and cost efficiency improvements.
Product Development
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for payment and billing initiatives—from discovery and technical design through launch, iteration, and scale.
  • Drive billing platform evolution to support new pricing and packaging models, add-ons, and scalable subscription management.
  • Bring localized payment methods to high-growth international markets, improving checkout conversion for users who prefer region-specific payment options.
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, data, and finance teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions on time.
Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Own global Checkout Success Rate and Payment Authorization Rate as core metrics, using data to continuously improve performance across markets.
  • Monitor transaction data, evaluate gateway strategies, and lead experiments to reduce friction, improve conversion, and lower processing costs.
  • Manage dunning flows, tax compliance, and payment collection optimization to reduce involuntary churn and operational overhead.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–8 years of experience in product management with a deep focus on payments systems, billing infrastructure, or subscription platforms.
  • Proven track record of owning and scaling billing and payment solutions in a consumer-facing SaaS environment.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing ecosystems: gateways, payment rails, authorization optimization, dunning, and tax compliance.
  • Demonstrated success improving checkout conversion and payment success rates through data-driven experimentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across engineering, finance, and leadership.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple high-priority initiatives.
