The Role
Linktree is growing on multiple fronts at once. We’re standing up entirely new revenue lines outside the subscription, and running a deep pipeline of work inside it — new features and products, new plans and packaging, funnel and onboarding initiatives, transactional revenue, etc. Each of these needs to be sized before we commit to it, modelled while we build it, and honestly reported on once it’s live. This role brings that together and owns it.
As Growth Lead, Strategic Finance, you’ll be the Finance counterpart to our Growth, Product and Marketing leads — working off the same roadmap, in the same conversations, sizing the opportunities they’re considering and modelling the ones they pursue. Where they’re accountable for delivering growth, you’re accountable for the numbers underneath it: what an initiative is worth, what it costs, what it actually delivered, and what that means for the forecast.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance as part of a small, high-trust finance team, you’ll own the revenue and new-initiative forecast end to end — from bottom-up build through to the numbers that reach the executive team, the Board and the cash forecast. This role is exceptional modelling, commercial judgment and stakeholder management in roughly equal measure. Most of all, you’ll help Linktree achieve our mission: to empower anyone to curate and grow their digital universe.
What You’ll Own
- Own the revenue model across all lines — subscription MRR and every new revenue stream — reconciling cleanly to actuals and to the long-range plan.
- Build and maintain initiative-level models for each growth and monetisation bet, with explicit, testable assumptions that update as evidence arrives.
- Own the monthly revenue forecast cycle: actualise, re-forecast, explain the movement, and hold the line between genuine signal and noise.
- Model subscription MRR in depth by plan, term, segment and geography, and own the link from the PLG funnel through to revenue.
- Size new revenue opportunities before they are committed to, assess the investment and opex required, and rank them on the evidence.
- Act as the embedded Finance partner to Product, Growth and Marketing leads, working to their roadmap and agreeing targets and measurement method with PMs.
- Lead the recurring growth and revenue performance forum from the Finance side — agenda, numbers, commentary and follow-through to closure.
- Contribute the revenue narrative to executive, Board and investor materials, and feed the cash forecast and annual budget.
Who We’re Looking For
- 8+ years in strategic finance, FP&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity or a commercially embedded finance function — including time in high-growth SaaS, consumer internet or technology.
- Exceptional financial modelling ability. This is the core of the role: complex revenue and scenario models built from first principles, not inherited and maintained.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Product, Growth or Marketing as their Finance counterpart — in the room, not adjacent to it.
- Track record of sizing new business opportunities and building investment cases, with sound judgment where source data requires estimation.
- Strong revenue forecasting experience, with a clear grasp of how a forecast ties to actuals, to cash and to a long-range plan.
- Deep fluency in subscription and product-led growth businesses — MRR movements, ARPU, retention, cohort behaviour, trial and conversion mechanics, funnel step conversion.
- Experience modelling the revenue impact of product and funnel initiatives, and holding a view on what was genuinely incremental.
- Experience owning a recurring performance reporting forum for a senior audience, including variance commentary and follow-up.
- Experience managing or mentoring an analyst or manager, or clear readiness to take that on.
- Exceptional Google Sheets skills, and familiarity with modern BI and analytics tooling (e.g. Hex, Looker, ChartMogul).
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
- Based in Melbourne or Sydney with the right to work in Australia.
Linktree is committed to providing a fair and competitive compensation package including cash, equity, and benefits.
P.S. If you don’t tick every box in this listing, please don’t rule yourself out. We take pride in inclusion and hiring incredible human beings with great potential over ticking boxes – so if this role resonates with you, hit that apply button!
