Video Content Producer
me&u
Melbourne, VIC, Australia
When it comes to food experience, me&u helps you always feel like a local. The company's vision is to bring that feeling to everyone, anywhere, so no matter what neighbourhood you live in or visit, you'll always know the perfect place to go and exactly what to order.
me&u is used by 6000+ bars, pubs, and restaurants to create memorable guest experiences and grow their brands. With 200 staff in five countries, and headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, me&u is the consolidation of two leading hospitality technology companies: Mr Yum and me&u, who merged in November 2023.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to own video storytelling at me&u, producing engaging, on-brand video content that brings our venues, operators, and guest experiences to life across social, brand, and commercial channels.
You'll be hands-on behind the camera and in the edit, capturing the stories of the hospitality operators, dishes, and venues that make up Australia's food scene, and producing the case study, launch, and sales content that drives brand love and product adoption.
This role sits at the intersection of craft and speed. You'll have a sharp eye for what works on each platform, a strong point of view on creative direction, and an appetite for experimenting with AI and emerging video tools to scale output without compromising quality. Where specialist work is needed, you'll brief and manage external contractors to deliver to the right standard.
This role is based in Melbourne and reports to our Co-founder & CXO.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Plan, shoot, and edit engaging consumer-facing video content for Instagram that brings the stories of hospitality operators, venues, and dishes to life, building brand love and category leadership with diners.
- Produce B2B video content for LinkedIn and other channels including customer case studies, testimonials, product launch films, and operator success stories that drive credibility, demand, and product adoption.
- Lead video production for product launches and major campaigns from brief through to final delivery, running the full production process end-to-end, including scripting, storyboarding, shot lists, shooting, editing, colour, sound, basic motion, and delivery.
- Brief and manage specialist external contractors when projects need additional firepower.
- Actively integrate AI video and production tools into your workflows to increase speed, volume, and creative range.
- Build a library of reusable footage, b-roll, and editable templates that the wider team (and the AI Creative Systems Designer) can plug into ongoing content production.
- Stay ahead of social trends, platform changes, and emerging video tech, and bring a consistent point of view on where me&u should lean in.
- Raise the overall standard of video craft at me&u, ensuring everything we put out reflects the innovation and category leadership of our product.
- 4+ years experience as a videographer, video producer, or content creator (hospitality, food, lifestyle, or SaaS a bonus).
- You're an incredible storyteller. You know how to find the human moment, structure a narrative, and hold attention from the first frame. Whether it's a 15-second Reel or a three-minute case study, you can make people feel something and remember it.
- You can flex between B2C and B2B storytelling. You know the difference between content that makes a diner crave a venue and content that makes an operator want to buy, and you can shift register, format, and pacing accordingly.
- Strong shooter and editor with excellent taste, comfortable running a shoot solo or directing a small crew, proficient with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, (or equivalents).
- You actively use AI video and production tools as part of real workflows, and you have a strong point of view on where AI unlocks new formats, speed, and scale.
- Deep understanding of how video works on Instagram Reels and LinkedIn especially, and how creative needs to flex for each platform.
- Execution-focused. You move quickly, iterate often, and prioritise output over perfection.
- Organised operator who can manage multiple briefs, external partners, budgets, and timelines without dropping the ball.
- Curious, commercially minded, and genuinely interested in hospitality and the stories of the operators we work with.
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is highly regarded.
