Onsite and Trade Marketing Manager

The opportunity

As the Onsite & Trade Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering best-in-class onsite experiences that drive engagement, conversion, and customer satisfaction through data-driven decision-making and continuous optimisation. You’ll own the development and execution of the monthly onsite trade calendar and lead major sales and promotional events that align with trading, marketing, and business priorities.

This role blends strategic insight with analytical execution; you’ll lead a team focused on merchandising, trade activation, and campaign delivery, while embedding a test-and-learn culture grounded in quantitative analysis and performance measurement.

What you’ll be doing

    • Develop and Maintain the Onsite Trade Calendar: Plan and manage the monthly onsite trade calendar, ensuring alignment with business priorities, marketing campaigns, and category trading opportunities through robust forecasting, performance modelling, and post-event analysis.
    • Campaign Execution & Optimisation: Lead the end-to-end execution of retail and seasonal campaigns; from briefing and creative alignment to QA, launch, and data-backed performance evaluation. Translate insights into recommendations that enhance campaign impact and ROI.
    • Onsite Merchandising & Activation: Oversee execution and QA of all onsite updates to ensure seamless user experiences and accurate product representation. Use analytical tools to assess product placement, content engagement, and conversion funnels to inform ongoing optimisation.
    • Performance Measurement & Insight Generation: Own onsite performance tracking; monitoring KPIs such as Click-Through Rate (CTR), Conversion Rate (CVR), Bounce rates, Transit Value, and engagement metrics. Deliver actionable insights and regular performance reporting to influence trading and marketing decisions.
    • Continuous Improvement & Experimentation: Champion a data-first, test-and-learn approach; leveraging A/B and multivariate testing, heatmapping, and user behaviour analytics to enhance site experience and conversion pathways.
    • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of onsite merchandisers and trade specialists. Foster a collaborative environment where analytical thinking and experimentation drive innovation and operational excellence.

The ideal toolbox

    • A data-driven mindset, thriving at the intersection of analytics, creativity, and customer experience.
    • Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights that inform both strategic direction and day-to-day execution.
    • 7+ years’ experience in ecommerce, onsite trading, or digital merchandising, ideally within retail or online marketplaces.
    • Demonstrated capability to analyse, interpret, and act on performance data to improve conversion and customer engagement.
    • Hands-on experience with analytics and experimentation tools (e.g., Google Analytics, ContentSquare, Optimizely, or similar).
    • Strong understanding of conversion rate optimisation (CRO) principles and onsite UX best practices.
    • Experience managing and developing teams in fast-paced, data-rich environments.
    • A balance of creative storytelling and commercial acumen, with the ability to quantify the impact of visual and promotional strategies.

Role location

We believe that building connections and collaborating as Pet Circlers is super important. So this role is based in Sydney with a hybrid arrangement of 3 days per week in our pet friendly offices (your pet might love coming to the office even more than you). This is subject to change in line with business requirements.
