Key aspects of this role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will report directly to the DevOps Lead, collaborating closely to run infrastructure projects, enhance CI/CD pipelines, and ensure system security and reliability.

All our environments run in the cloud, and our focus is on making them scalable, resilient, and secure. We're strong advocates of testing and automation, building solutions that minimise manual configuration and reduce operational overhead.

  • Partner with development and infrastructure teams to plan, build, test, and deploy services with clear processes and support.
  • Lead infrastructure projects across monitoring, observability, incident response, upgrades, reliability and performance improvements.
  • Continuously evaluate tech trends to improve systems and solve complex infrastructure and operational challenges.
  • Design and run performance/load tests, troubleshoot issues, and drive improvements using metrics and SLOs.
  • Lead IT admin tasks like security reviews, SOC2 compliance processes, and maintain clear, audit-ready documentation.

Our Tech Stack

  • Cloud Infrastructure
  • AWS EC2, ECS, ECR, Aurora, ElastiCache, S3, CloudFront, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, CloudWatch.
  • Containerisation & Application
  • Docker, Linux, NGINX, PHP, Symfony, Node.js, MySQL, Postgres, Redis.
  • Automation & CI/CD
  • Terraform, GitHub, GitHub Actions.

You’re ideal for the role if you have…

  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps/SRE engineer or similar role
  • Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining highly available AWS based infrastructure for high-transaction SaaS applications using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
  • Expertise in ensuring reliable and efficient systems through performance testing, infrastructure issue resolution, observability-driven enhancements, and optimised cycle time and deployment frequency via CI/CD automation.
  • Personal responsibility & sense of urgency > you’re results-obsessed & biased towards action
  • A growth mindset > we’re always hungry to improve and want you to contribute to this
  • Bonus: Background in construction > this isn’t necessary, but it’s a huge bonus if you have prior domain knowledge of construction or construction-technology

Our culture

  • Remote First - work from anywhere in Australia - we were remote-first before Covid, have established processes around collaboration/culture to ensure inclusiveness & engagement.
  • Socials - We have regular online social events & hold annual off-sites (in person).

  • High Expectations - we’re self-motivated, embrace velocity as our greatest advantage, take pride in what we do and push to reach our potential.
  • Radical Transparency - we believe in flat structures & sharing knowledge, everyone is privy to what happens day-to-day and nothing is hidden (i.e. company strategy, finances & all).
  • Extra Leave Days - A day off for your Birthday and an extra day off before Christmas
