Key aspects of this role

This roles sole focus is to visibly save time for Alastair.

  • Protect & own the CEO's time > Manage Alastair's calendar, inbox, and priorities with ruthless discipline, knowing what does & doesn’t deserve his attention.
  • Be the filter on communications > Own Slack triage, inbox management, and stakeholder correspondence. You create structure and reduce noise by setting response rhythms, and drafting high-quality written comms on his behalf.
  • Enable strategic focus & push back when it matters > Create the conditions for Alastair to operate strategically. That includes calling out when he's being inefficient. You are a second brain.
  • Leverage AI tools daily > Use AI actively to work faster and smarter. From drafting, summarising, researching, and automating wherever possible.
  • Timezone support > Alastair is based in UK, but frequently travels including to Middle East & Australia.
  • Personal support > This role will occasionally cross into Alastair's personal life, but only where it frees him to focus on running the business. Think travel, scheduling, and logistics.

You’re ideal for the role if you have…

  • Proven EA experience supporting C-suite (essential) > You've worked directly with a founder or senior executive and know what great looks like.
  • Cross-timezone experience (essential) > You've supported leaders operating across multiple time zones and know how to manage that complexity.
  • Exceptional written communication (essential) > You write with clarity, precision, and the right tone for the audience. Correspondence, briefings, and communications drafted on Alastair's behalf should be indistinguishable from his own voice.
  • A "manage the executive" mindset > You don't wait to be told what to do. You anticipate, flag, and act.
  • Ruthless prioritisation instincts > You can walk into a chaotic week and sequence it calmly and correctly.
  • AI and digital tool fluency > You actively use tools like Claude, n8n, or similar in your daily workflow. You don't need to be taught; you're already doing it.
  • Confidence to challenge > You've disagreed with a boss and said so. You know when to push back, and you do it constructively.
