Values we live by
- Better people build better companies
- Whole arse it, with ruthless pragmatism
- Help the customer win
(We’ll tell you more about these as discussions progress)
Key aspects of this role- Own Al's operating system > Manage Alastair's calendar, inbox, and priorities with ruthless discipline. You decide what deserves his attention and what doesn't — and you set the rhythm, not him.
- Write and communicate on his behalf > Own Slack triage, inbox management, and stakeholder correspondence. Anything you draft should be indistinguishable from his own voice. This requires judgment and taste, not just writing speed.
- Build process and documentation > When something keeps breaking or bottlenecking through Al, you fix it properly. You build a system, document it, and hand it off. This is a core part of the role, not a nice-to-have.
- Cross-timezone coordination > Alastair operates across the UK, Middle East and Australia. You manage that complexity without dropping things.
- Leverage AI tools daily > You use AI actively to work faster and smarter — drafting, summarising, researching, automating. You don't need to be taught; you're already doing it.
- Occasional personal support > Travel, logistics, scheduling — only where it genuinely frees him up to run the business.
- 3+ years as EA to a founder or C-suite executive (essential) > You've worked directly with a senior leader and know what great looks like.
- A track record of building systems, not just managing tasks (essential) > You can point to a process you built that removed someone as a bottleneck. Inbox management is table stakes; this is what sets you apart.
- AI-native ways of working (essential) > You use Claude or similar tools to build workflows and automate repeatable work. Not "I've tried ChatGPT" — genuinely integrated into how you operate.
- Exceptional written communication (essential) > You write with clarity, precision, and the right tone for the audience. Correspondence and briefings drafted on Alastair's behalf should read as his own.
- Cross-timezone experience (essential) > You've supported leaders operating across multiple time zones and know how to manage that complexity.
- Confidence to push back (essential) > You've disagreed with a boss and said so — calmly, constructively, and correctly. You know when to flag that something isn't the best use of his time.
- Remote First - work from anywhere in UK — we were remote-first before Covid, have established processes around collaboration/culture to ensure inclusiveness & engagement.
- Socials - We have regular online social events & hold annual off-sites (in person).
- Team First - we're close knit, highly collaborative, actively help each other succeed (knowledge sharing, training) to develop our teams' capabilities.
- High Expectations - we're self motivated, embrace velocity as our greatest advantage, take pride in what we do and push to reach our potential.
- Radical Transparency - we believe in flat structures & sharing knowledge, everyone is privy to what happens day-to-day and nothing is hidden (i.e. company strategy, finances & all).
- Extra Leave Days - A day off for your Birthday and an extra day off before Christmas.
- Extra Annual Leave - We offer 25 days of annual leave
Compensation
