Values we live by
- Better people build better companies
- Whole arse it, with ruthless pragmatism
- Help the customer win
(We’ll tell you more about these as discussions progress)
Key aspects of this role
- Own the talent function end-to-end - Set the strategy and run the day-to-day. You're executing the majority of the time.
- Partner with hiring managers - Bring tighter structure to briefs, put the right guardrails in place to make their hiring manager roles easier, and help them hire well without slowing them down.
- Build our EVP - Define what we stand for as an employer and make sure our external presence reflects the real thing.
- Uplift the hiring process - Own stage structure, scorecards, and the specific questions at each stage so we consistently identify top talent.
- Run talent pipelines - Build relationships for roles we know are coming, so we're never starting from zero when a role opens, including active outreach
- Manage external recruiters - Set the bar for how the team operates and bring on more headcount as we scale.
- Own the metrics - Track funnel health, time-to-hire, and quality of hire, then use the data to keep tightening the process and EVP.
You’re ideal for the role if you…
- Experienced working in a tech startup (essential) - you understand the volume of roles, know how to build healthy talent pipeline for future roles, and have experience in delivering the right talent across commercial, operational & technical roles
- Love being in the work - You want to be in the detail, sourcing, closing candidates, and moving reqs yourself, alongside building & executing a talent strategy
- Have built an EVP before - Not just written a careers page. You've defined what a company stands for as an employer, and built a strong employer reputation.
- Are great with hiring managers - You're comfortable when briefs are vague or shifting. You bring clarity, ask the right questions, and help them figure out what they actually need.
- Are intentional about interviews - You can tell us why a specific question belongs at stage two and not stage one.
- Are data-literate and commercially sharp - You can read a funnel, spot where it's leaking, and fix it.
- Leverage AI for operational efficiency - you’re experienced in building workflows that give you back time, that enable hiring managers, and scale the talent function
