The Role You’ll Play:

As the Payments Scheme Manager, you will have the opportunity to play a significant role in driving’s Zepto’s contribution to the account-to-account payments ecosystem, in collaboration with the Product leadership and Executive teams.

Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, you will be a key member of our Product team and are a technical payments expert who has the proven ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of an organisation's product offering and capabilities.

You thrive in being a subject matter expert of NPP and BECS scheme rules and compliance, and have a deep understanding of account-to-account payment flows. Reading the scheme rules and applying them to how we work is really your bread and butter!

You will be known for your ability to build relationships and establish rapport quickly. You will be confident in representing Zepto proudly and working alongside our banking partners to deliver excellence at Zepto. You will be an advocate for Zepto and have influence when engaging in discussions around scheme rules. You think critically and have proven experience in understanding how these scheme rules can affect businesses both operationally and commercially and be able to translate your knowledge into informed product strategy decisions.

You are passionate about real time payments and open banking. You are curious and have a mindset to increase competition and efficiency within the broader payments ecosystem. You look for opportunities to innovate, work with stakeholders across the business to optimise operational processes and have strong problem solving skills.

Working in a scale-up means you get the opportunity to flex your skills in a variety of ways. We are agile and always willing to roll up our sleeves to get things done. You can, however, expect your day to day to be involved in the following:

  • Managing Zepto’s relationship with relevant Schemes (NPP and BECS). This involves representing and advocating for Zepto at various Scheme Committees and events
  • Managing Zepto’s relationship with core banking partners. This includes projects related to new product offerings and assisting with any relevant commercial discussions
  • Being the central point of contact for Schemes and core banking partners for changes, projects, rules, mandatory compliance requirements, surveys, forecasting and reporting
  • Manage and document the configuration rules agreed with and set with core banking providers.
  • Working with our Product team to ensure that product strategy is informed by evolving Scheme Rules, and your advocacy work is informed by our product strategy
  • Working closely with the Service Delivery Team to understand internal and merchant facing operational needs
  • Managing the annual attestation programs
  • Perform business analysis, identify requirements, document and communicate to internal and external stakeholders
  • Meeting the qualification requirements and acting as a Responsible Manager on Zepto’s Australian Financial Services Licence.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • A technical payments expert who has experience working within Product or Operations teams in the financial services industry
  • Extensive experience in deeply understanding the BECS and NPP scheme rules and applying them in a product and operations environment
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to deliver via strong project management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience in relationship management within the FinTech or banking industry, with a focus on payment schemes and core banking partners
  • Deep understanding and passion for account-to-account payment flows
  • Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively cross functionally including with technical teams
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
