The Role You’ll Play

As the People & Culture Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring our people have exceptional experiences at Zepto and work with leaders to enable them to do their best work.

With your HR advisory and broader generalist experience, you will be a trusted people partner, working closely with leaders to provide guidance on all HR related matters, with a strong emphasis on recruitment, employee relations, and growth and development at Zepto.

Reporting to Zepto’s Chief of Staff, you will lead the operational requirements of the People function. You will be supported by a talented People & Culture Associate, who is a cultural ambassador and leads many of our people and experience initiatives. You will work together to amplify our culture that enables our team to deliver against our vision.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Generalist or Business Partner who is looking to join one of Australia’s most exciting FinTechs.

Working in a scale-up, means you get the opportunity to flex your skills in a variety of ways. We are agile and always willing to roll up our sleeves to get things done. You can, however, expect your day to day to be involved in the following:

  • Partner with leaders and their teams to provide guidance on people related matters, whilst continually bringing insights and trends to each conversation
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, acting as a cultural ambassador who lives by our values every day and is overall, a good human and trusted colleague
  • Strategically lead the full employee lifecycle from talent attraction to onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
  • Review and update policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with current legislation, our due diligence obligations as a Financial Services organisation, Modern Awards, audit requirements and recommended best practices
  • Develop and deliver a proactive talent attraction strategy to engage and attract top talent across with a particular focus on Engineering & Technology and Financial Services and Payments talent
  • Collaborate with leaders to identify talent development needs and create learning opportunities that support career growth and skill enhancement
  • Facilitate Zepto’s compensation review process including annual benchmarking and reviewing and evolving our employee benefits offering
  • Lead and deliver against our employee engagement initiatives, with a particular focus on our company wide Summit, Zepto’s hackathon-style “Zeptopalooza” event, and regular in person and virtual events to connect our team across Australia
  • Provide periodic people reporting & insights on recruitment metrics, turnover rates, and other key HR metrics to the leadership team to support data driven decisions
  • Implement and manage HR processes and systems to automate and streamline operations and enhance the overall employee experience.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of progressive, generalist HR experience, gained within technology or financial services startup or scaleup environment
  • Generalist experience with a lean to HR advisory, talent acquisition & talent management skills and experience
  • Sound understanding of HR best practices and Fair Work obligations and requirements
  • Proven track record of successfully scaling talent acquisition efforts and building high-performing teams ideally, in a hybrid or remote environment
  • Experience leading, coaching and mentoring those around them
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advisory skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, evolving environment where you thrive on getting stuff done
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day HR operations.
  • You’re tech savvy with experience in maximising automation via HRIS and ATS platforms.
