About Us:

Zepto is a rapidly-scaling provider of real-time, account-to-account payments solutions for merchants, and is reimagining the way money moves through the always-on, digital-first economy.

Our growing team across Australia allows for like-minded, talented, passionate people motivated to help us deliver on our brand promise to #LevelThePayingField.

At Zepto we believe in the power of positive human experiences, and that a deep sense of belonging creates cohesion in our culture. So, even in a remote-first team, you will be a contributor and custodian of that culture. You will also enjoy solving complex problems, and play a key role in creating something truly special as we focus on delivering ‘a better way to pay’ at Zepto.

About the Role:

As Senior Risk Analyst, you'll play a hands-on role in embedding and maintaining Zepto’s risk practices, working closely with the Head of Risk & Compliance and leaders across the business. You’ll take the lead on maintaining risk tools, coordinating risk reviews, and supporting governance routines to enable commercially minded, risk-informed decisions.

This role also contributes to shaping risk culture across the organisation by building awareness, promoting accountability, and ensuring risk is actively considered as the business grows and scales.

Working in a scale-up, means you get the opportunity to flex your skills in a variety of ways. We are agile and always willing to roll up our sleeves to get things done. You can, however, expect your day to day to be involved in the following:

  • Maintain and apply Zepto’s Risk Management Framework, supporting the Head of Risk & Compliance in keeping it current, aligned to business needs, and applied with a practical, commercial lens. This includes supporting consistent application of risk methodologies (e.g. risk ratings, treatment plans, control assessments) across teams using the GRC platform.
  • Maintain and enhance risk management tooling (e.g. GRC platform), including administration of risk modules, and driving business-wide engagement to ensure risk owners update, and review their data consistently.
  • Support improvements to risk-related tools (e.g. fraud prevention), ensuring they align with risk objectives and enable effective control design and monitoring.
  • Own day-to-day administration and upkeep of Zepto’s risk register, working with the Head of Risk & Compliance to ensure risks are current, well-articulated, aligned, and regularly reviewed by risk owners.
  • Prepare and coordinate Risk Committee meetings, including development of risk reporting, discussion material, and tracking of actions and decisions.
  • Work with functional leads to support risk assessments and emerging risk reviews, ensuring outputs are recorded, linked to controls or treatments, and monitored. Identify control gaps and partner with teams to improve control design and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with teams to embed a culture of open risk and issue escalation, and support timely resolution and identification of control improvements, including support with follow-through on remediation and control enhancements where required.
  • Deliver training and facilitate risk workshops to build awareness of Zepto’s risk framework, promote consistent application, and improve accountability across the business.
  • Work closely with teams launching new products, onboarding new merchants, or making material changes to ensure risk is considered in planning, assessment, and delivery.
  • Act as a central point of contact for day-to-day risk questions, supporting teams in managing risk in a commercially informed and practical way.
  • Analyse internal and external data to identify forward-looking insights, emerging risks, and risk concentration themes.
  • Support internal and external audits and assurance reviews by preparing documentation, evidence, and responses related to risk management activities.
  • Assist in preparing for regulatory engagement or industry assurance activities, including those related to PayTo, NPP, or AFSL obligations, and monitor completion of risk-related actions from audits, reviews, or internal assessments.
