Job Description

As an Accountant at GROW, your key areas of focus will include:

• Preparing and lodging indirect taxes for GROW including BAS, GST, PAYG and payroll-related taxes.

• Client invoicing and collections.

• Completing month-end reporting checklist, including account reconciliation, AP/AR reconciliations and bank reconciliations.

• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and substantiation for annual reporting and audit.

• Maintaining monthly accrual schedules, journal entries and related records.

• Maintaining monthly schedules for rent/leases, software licences, interest payable on any loans and other material expenses, and maintaining appropriate records for audit purposes.

• Supporting the preparation of financial statements, related returns, external audit and any other internal audit reviews for financial year end.

• Preparing financial analysis of key business metrics for monthly reporting.

• Preparing payroll and supporting the Senior Finance Manager with payroll-related matters.

• Assisting with Annual Business Plan, budget process and forecast updates.

• Provide support as required on key projects and systems updates.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we are ideally looking for someone with:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the financial services or tech industry.
• Appropriate technical accounting and tax knowledge.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks.
• Wonderful communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The ability to take initiative, solve problems and follow through to resolution.
• Highly collaborative, able to work cross-functionally as well as within the finance team.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to prioritise tasks, ensuring deadlines are met (particularly with key projects and in peak workload periods).
• The ability to create efficiencies and streamline processes to better support the business.
